Hello and welcome to novus via!
One day I may share more about who I am, but for now here’s what you need to know.
I’m a 20-something living in the Golden State. I love country and hip-hop equally, and my steering wheel is my favorite audience. Books are always better than their movie counterparts. My Italian mother’s pasta sauce is good enough to be eaten with a spoon. And I am a full-time law student – meaning I am a sarcastic, exhausted version of my former self. With worse jokes.
But, I am also in need of a change.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve battled my weight.
Yes, that’s the token line of anyone trying to lose weight. No, I don’t care that it’s a cliché.
This summer (2017), one of my lifelong friends is getting married and I am thrilled to be part of her big day. Except that whole thing about hundreds of photos. And the fact that her friends all weigh about 98 pounds and have legs for days. Cue the hardcore eye roll.
So, in addition to my desire to be healthier and feel better in my regular clothes long term, I kind of need a big-ish change in the next five months.
As an FYI, I’m utilizing weight watchers “smart points” as a tracking method, however this blog is in no way affiliated with them and I totally support anyone on a journey of their own who uses alternative tracking methods.
Oh, and if you’re wondering what novus via means, it’s “a new journey” in Latin. I’m a law student. We talk about a lot of Latin words. Get it? It’s funny. It’s quippy. It’s moderately inspirational. Just roll with it.
